Why buy a Kindersack? One of the best benefits is that babies can't kick off their blanket, therefore your baby stays warmer and sleeps better. The most potentially beneficial thing about Kindersacks, if used properly, is that they may lessen the risk of SIDS. Although the true cause of SIDS is unknown, it is widely believed that SIDS is caused by infants sleeping on their backs or with blankets (that can bunch up) which can cause poor air movement around the mouth. This causes the baby to rebreath carbon dioxide which was just exhaled, which in turn can cause a decreased ability for the infant to awake. For more information please see the American SIDS Organization. Made with an all natural cotton lining and shell, the natural cotton fabric makes them breathable, soft, and comfortable against your babies skin. Use them when you are traveling to help your baby feel safe and secure being in their familiar, favorite Kindersack. This can possibly help them sleep better.
How to use KindersacksUse in place of a blanket or sheet. Dress your baby as YOU are dressed and use a quilted or unquilted Kindersack, depending on the warmth of the nursery. A quilted Kindersack would be like a blanket, and an unquilted one would be like a warm sheet. They work like a real sleeping bag keeping warmth in, so although you may only be using an unquilted Kindersack, the baby may still be warm. A good way to test how warm your baby is, is to put your hand on your babys tummy to test how warm its tummy feels. The large armholes on Kindersack allow for air circulation so your baby will stay cozy all night long. Every child is different. Some children tend to sweat at night, therefore a lighter weight kindersack is best with light clothing underneath, even in winter. If you choose to co-sleep with your baby, it is recommended that you DO NOT cover your baby with your bedding covers, this could cause over-heating.
When can your baby start using a Kindersack?Kindersacks can be used from birth. Not only do they keep your infant warm and comfortable, but they are easier to use then a receiving blanket. If your baby was premature, it is best that you wait until the baby is at least 8 weeks old. Always make sure the baby's head is larger than the neck opening.
What size should you buy?Kindersacks come in several sizes and styles. This is not the kind of apparel item you can buy larger to "get the most use out of", so please choose the right size for your baby for safety reasons. It is a good value because you will use the Kindersack every day, several times a day!! Size 1 - 3 months fits babies up to 26"" tall and 1 - 4 months of age. Size 3 - 6 months fits babies up to 30"" tall and 2 - 9 months of age. Size 9 - 24 months fits babies up to 36"" tall and 6 - 24 months of age. Size 2 - 3 years fits toddlers up to 44"" tall and up to 3 years old. Size 3 - 6 years fits children up to 51" tall and up to 6 years old. BE SAFE - CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE SIZE FOR YOUR CHILD!! | |||
